I was at work when I got a call from the State Section Director of MUFON. He said he had gotten a couple of calls about people seeing strange balls of light shooting around near the sun. He asked me if I could step outside and have a look from where I was. When I did, I immediately began seeing these strange fast balls of sparkly light popping up and down, shooting across the face of the sun. I have NEVER seen anything like this in my life. While trying to figure out a way to capture these on my phone video recorder, I realized that if I blocked the majority of the sun with the edge of the building, I was able to catch some of the bigger ones on the camera. Watch the video through to the end as most of the activity is near the end. Some of these balls were quite large. We called Purdue University and the people we spoke to there said that these were either flying spiders or ice crystals. They were also watching them and knew what we were referring to the moment we started to describe them. There was even a short blip in mainstream media about it in the following days. I can’t find the clip now but if I do, I will post it with the video. Of course, we thought they were just blowing smoke up our butts. Neither of the two theories they provided made much sense when you actually watched them. I suspect they had no idea what we were seeing. Regardless, I was glad I was able to capture this brief clip.

The video (link below) is from my RING front door camera. Something very bright triggered a recording. It was NOT lightning. The weather was clear and no sound was recorded. (The RING camera records audio AND video.) If you notice, there was a bright flash coming from above the street and it was so bright that it illuminated part of the neighbors yard across the street from my house. The bright flash is at the VERY BEGINNING of the recording and is what tripped the motion sensor to begin recording. (Incidentally, I have never had lightning trip my motion sensor and cause the camera to begin recording. Whatever it was, it was so intense that is triggered the solar coach light hanging on a shepards hook in from of my walk path and you can see it begin to flicker. I have no idea what would have caused this. This is just one more weird little thing that is an everyday part of my life.

Can you see this weird bug that tripped my Security camera? And hear the weird sound? Bugs don’t normally trip them. I can SEE them in the monitor but they don’t trigger a recording. I was in my office, writing, when the alarm went off. My son had JUST left to see his gf. She didn’t get off work 'till late. It was like 12:45 am. I noticed my son's vehicle sitting in the driveway for a few minutes before he left. And as soon as he left, this bug appeared. He later said he thought he heard something weird and was looking around to see what it might be. When he didn’t see anything, he left.
