This spot was completely covered with grass before the incident. The strip leading away from the spot is 48 feet in length.
After one year, the landing spot remained nearly as scarred and devoid of plant life as it was soon after the incident occurred.
Snow would immediately melt off the spot, even though the surrounding area remained snow-covered.
The 48-foot line extending from the landing spot also repelled snow.
Absence of regrowth after two years illustrates how much the landing affected the yard soil.
The dandelions that grew along the spot and the path dwarfed normal dandelions. ( A side-by-side comparison of a normal dandelion beside the 'affected' one is made in this photo. A pencil is also shown to provide scaling.)
Our dog Penny, who was perfectly healthy before the encounter, soon suffered severe lesions, loss of fur, boils and soon died.
This was a sketch I made to illustrate what I saw
The similarity of the UFO sketch made in 1979 (which I was unaware of but was shown after my own sketch was drawn) is striking in resemblance.
As previously noted, my drawing was made from my experience and the 1979 South African drawing was shown to me by Budd Hopkins.
I made this drawing soon after my encounter/experience of June, 1983.
The similarity of this drawing I knew nothing of, made by a lady I don't (and didn't) know is inescapably remarkable. This was in 1983 when Alien "greys" were not common to the general public.
When Budd Hopkins showed me the McBride sketch, I experienced emotional and physical distress.
